Where we sail

As our yacht, James Cook, is based in Royal Quays Marina, North Shields near Newcastle upon Tyne we are in perfect position to explore the breathtaking North East coast visiting ports and anchorages such as Blyth, Amble, Berwick upon Tweed, Hartlepool, Scarborough and Whitby.

Also immensely popular are voyages to Northumberland's Farne Island, Holy Island and Seahouses. These spectacular destinations are unique in their rich history and wildlife. Wherever possible we will take crews on land to explore, take in the scenery and hopefully bump into some of the local residents which include Grey Seals, Puffins and Guillemots.

While our roots are firmly based in the North East of England we enjoy sailing further north along Scotland’s East coast, going up to Eyemouth and as far as north as Peterhead and Aberdeen.

Fancy going a bit further a field? Not a problem. Ocean Youth Trust NE takes part in world famous Tall Ships Races which visit ports in the Baltic Sea and across Scandinavia.

We also undertake adventure voyages the most recent being to Iceland where, as well as the challenge of the sailing there was a chance to go whale watching and many other exciting opportunities.
